View from Hastings House Manor East Suite

Our Staff’s Favourite Suites

One of the many special things about Hastings House is our eighteen unique guest accommodations. Each suite has its own fabrics and décor, as well as a different view of the property. Guests often call the hotel to book so that we can help them select the very best room for their stay. Our reception team love sharing the features of each of our five buildings: the Hillside, the Barn, the Manor House, the Farmhouse, and the two Cottages. Here are a few of our staff members’ favourite suites:

Marla, our Front Office Manager, particularly enjoys the Somerset Signature Suite on the Hillside.

I enjoyed a special birthday stay in Somerset. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on in my life. We sat side-by-side on our laptops at the in-suite dining table when we wanted to check in with the world. And, the balcony overlooking the harbour was a beautiful place to drink coffee, relax and to eat the muffins that were delivered in the morning.

The Farm House cannot be topped. In the words of our General Manager, Alan Lawley:

The Farm East and Farm West suites are our most exclusive accommodations. The Farmhouse is also one of our most historic buildings. And, the second-storey King bedrooms offer our very best ocean views. The ample living rooms and distinctive furnishings offer guests a home away from home.

Jessica, our Events Manager, appreciates the Churchill Cottage for its versatility.

Churchill Cottage is so tastefully renovated. The living room is cheerful and bright. It looks out over the whole pasture and flower farm all the way to the ocean. The King bedroom has this view also and boasts a walk-in closet. I love the black granite countertop with two sinks in the master bathroom. The full kitchen, dining room, and the dining table on the porch make Churchill a definite asset to any wedding booking or family gathering.

Monty, our Dining Room Manager, values the traditional furnishings of the Manor House suites.

The Manor House is such a cozy place to stay, especially in spring and fall. Guests staying in Manor East or Manor West can just step downstairs to the heritage lounge (which was the Hastings’ sitting room) and enjoy the Fireside Social by the Inglenook fireplace. The views from Manor East are my favourite as the front room looks out towards the water through the leaded windows, and the bedroom looks out towards our covered well and gardens.

Jack, one of our Front Desk Agents, likes the Heather Hillside Suite best.

Heather is in a secluded spot on the property in the Hillside pavilion closer to the harbour. It has a wonderful view of the yachts and the water. Also, the Hillside suites have more modern bathroom amenities with glassed-in showers as well as the deep soaker tubs. I like to recommend Heather to guests when they are looking for a Standard suite with a view.

We look forward to assisting you in choosing a suite or suites with the features that will best suit your party.
