Chef Kauer uses nothing but the finest ingredients, from freshly grown herbs, greens and fruit from the hotel’s bountiful gardens and orchards, fresh seafood from local waters and meat, poultry, game and produce from local island farmers. Your party will also receive a 2 hour class with Hastings House Pastry Chef Rosemary Harbrecht as she prepares scones, crumpets, desserts and other scrumptious delights that are sure to please your palate. Our cooking and pastry symposium is available to parties of 4 to 6 guests with a two-night stay in one of our 18 unique rustic suites with all of today’s modern amenities. Each participant will go home with a beautiful 96-page full-colour Hastings House Cookbook as a souvenir of their afternoon with the pros.
